Maternidad empoderada es una serie de cuatro semanas diseñada para ayudar a las mujeres embarazadas a superar los desafíos que pueden enfrentar durante el período posparto temprano. Si bien esta clase no es un tratamiento para la depresión posparto, su objetivo es brindarles a los participantes una comprensión de las emociones normales que se experimentan durante el período posparto, a menudo denominadas "tristeza posparto", y cómo reconocer cuándo estos sentimientos pueden indicar algo más graves, como la depresión posparto. Los participantes también obtendrán herramientas para controlar el estrés durante el embarazo y el período posparto, establecer límites con sus seres queridos, pedir ayuda, comunicar sus necesidades e identificar recursos para apoyo adicional cuando sea necesario.

Asegúrese de llegar a tiempo, ya que los participantes que lleguen con más de 15 minutos de retraso no serán admitidos.

Virtual Maternidad Empoderada(Virtual Empowered Motherhood in Spanish)

Empowered Motherhood es una serie de cuatro semanas diseñada para ayudar a las futuras madres a enfrentar los desafíos que pueden surgir durante el período posparto temprano.

Aunque esta clase no es un tratamiento para la depresión posparto, tiene como objetivo brindar a las participantes una comprensión de las emociones normales que se experimentan durante el posparto, comúnmente conocidas como "Baby Blues", y cómo reconocer cuándo estos sentimientos podrían indicar algo más serio, como la depresión posparto. Las participantes también adquirirán herramientas para manejar el estrés durante el embarazo y el posparto, establecer límites con sus seres queridos, pedir ayuda, comunicar sus necesidades e identificar recursos para obtener apoyo adicional cuando sea necesario.

Esta clase es exclusivamente para mujeres embarazadas. Para fomentar un espacio de apertura y vulnerabilidad, no se permite la asistencia de parejas. Si la clase se cancela por cualquier motivo, se notificará a las participantes de manera oportuna.

Virtual Hypertension in Pregnancy

This informative and supportive course is designed specifically for expecting parents to understand the risks, signs, and management of hypertensive disorders during pregnancy, including gestational hypertension and preeclampsia. With rising rates of these conditions, early awareness and education are key to promoting maternal and fetal health.

Participants will learn:

  • The different types of hypertension in pregnancy and how they affect both parent and baby.
  • How to recognize early warning signs and symptoms of preeclampsia.
  • Risk factors and lifestyle considerations that may contribute to hypertensive disorders.
  • Monitoring strategies used during prenatal care, including blood pressure checks and lab tests.
  • Treatment options and when to seek medical attention.
  • Long-term health implications for both the birthing parent and child.
  • How to advocate for yourself during prenatal visits and labor.

 

This course combines expert-led instruction with practical tools and resources to empower families with knowledge and confidence. Whether you're a first-time parent or adding to your family, this class will help you navigate pregnancy with greater peace of mind.

Breastfeeding Basics

This class will cover the basics of breastfeeding. Topics will include:

  • the benefits of breastfeeding
  • how breastfeeding works
  • getting a good latch
  • positions for breastfeeding
  • when to feed baby
  • making sure baby is getting enough milk
  • pumping and storing milk
  • troubleshooting

Participants who attend this class will receive a Haakaa manual breast pump, limited to one per family, and may be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card and can shop in the Baby Boutique.

Please arrive to class on time. Participants will not be allowed into class if more than 15 minutes late. 

**(Seats for this class are individual. If both partners are attending they will both need to register.)If class is cancelled for any reason, participants will be notified as soon as possible.**

*Please bring your own water bottle for use with our water dispensers. Snacks will be provided when they are available. Please feel free to bring your own food to class.*

Preparing Older Siblings for Baby's Arrival(Only adult attendees need to complete the registration)

This class is designed to help families prepare children for the arrival of a new baby in a way that fosters connection, understanding, and emotional security. This class is to be attended by both parents and siblings.

 

 Please bring your own water bottle for use with our water dispensers. Snacks will be provided when they are available. Please feel free to bring your own food to class.
