This is an informational class designed to educate parents about the benefits of signing with their baby from an early age. Parents will leave with an understanding of the many benefits of signing with their baby and how to use the most common signs as well as how to incorporate the signs into their daily infant care routines. Each participant who attends will be entered in a drawing for a $25 gift card.

This class is a part of the American Heart Associations EmPOWERED health lessons. 

Every 40 seconds someone in the United States has a stroke. However, by making healthy lifestyle changes and learning the warning signs of stroke, people can control some factors that raise their risks and increase their awareness and response to stroke.

In this lesson, learn who is at high risk, Life’s Essential 8™ to reduce the risk for stroke and about F.A.S.T. – the warning signs of stroke. Each Participant will be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card.

This class is a part of the American Heart associations EmPOWERED health series and will educate participants in the use of hands- only CPR. Hands-Only CPR (without mouth-to-mouth breaths) provided by a bystander is as effective as conventional CPR for cardiac arrest in teens and adults at home, at work or in public if done in the first few minutes after sudden cardiac arrest. About 90% of people who suffer out-of-hospital cardiac arrests die. CPR, if performed immediately, can double or triple a cardiac arrest victim's chance of survival. Each participant will be entered into a drawing for a $25.00 gift card.

This class is a part of the American Heart Associations EmPOWERED health series. This lesson gives guidance on how to: Add more color, crunch and flavor with produce. Embrace ways to include a variety of fruits and vegetables in your daily meals. Take action to help improve access to fruits and vegetables for everyone. Participants who attend five consecutive AHA classes will be entered into a drawing for a $25.00 gift card.

This class is the Childbirth Series broken into a two part series and will be offered as an ONLINE CLASS ONLY. Participants in this class will be required to stop by the office prior to class to pick up their class materials and complete intake paperwork if not already completed. (This will be 12/4/23 or 12/5/23 between 10-5. Please call (210)-592-1035 to schedule a time to come by).All participants will be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card after they have completed their post class survey.

This class should be taken no earlier than 28 weeks of pregnancy. If you have previously attended or registered for the Marathon Childbirth class please do not enroll in this series as it is the same class and information. This 6 week series will equip birthing persons and support persons with the knowledge and tools necessary for a healthy pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience. Each week features a different topic. Topics include Planning Your Birth and Healthy Pregnancy, Labor and Birth, Pain and Comfort, Medical Interventions, Newborn and Postpartum Care, and Breastfeeding Basics. At the end of this six week series participants will be entered into a raffle for a door prize. After each class participants can have a free shopping trip to our Baby Boutique. Seats for this class are individual. If both partners are attending they will both need to register.

This class is part of the American Heart Associations EmPOWERED health series. This lesson covers: Community needs. Understanding the physical activity guidelines for Americans. Identifying how to remove barriers to physical activity. Establishing a physical activity plan. It is possible to prevent heart disease and stroke 80% of the time by making healthy choices such as regular physical activity, leading to longer, healthier lives. Each participant will be entered into a drawing for a $25.00 gift card.

This class is part of the American Heart Associations EmPOWERED health series. Learn the signs of atrial fibrillation and reduce its impact in your communities. AFib is rising nationwide, but some groups are less likely to be aware they have the condition. Many people with AFib are unaware of their increased risk. AFib can lead to chronic fatigue, heart failure and stroke. Participants in this class will be entered into a drawing for a $25.00 gift card.
