Newborn Care Class #1- What To Expect

Please arrive to class on time, doors will close 15 minutes after start time.This class is for expecting parents and will cover what to expect after the baby has been born. This class will cover common hospital procedures and how to advocate for yourself and your baby, the traits and reflexes that babies are born with, normal newborn behaviors and practical tips for comforting a crying baby. Each participant who attends the class may be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card.
Please bring your own water bottle for use with our water dispensers. Snacks will be provided when they are available. Please feel free to bring your own food to class.
Welcome Workshop In Person(Please call our office to schedule your in person intake prior to attending this class)

Please arrive to class on time, doors will close 15 minutes after start time.The Welcome Workshop is a class for all program participants who have already completed their in person intake. Please call and schedule your intake prior to taking this class. This is a hybrid class and can be taken in person or virtually. If this class is attended in person you will be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card, you can shop the boutique, and you will receive a door prize. During this workshop we will introduce you to our diverse program services, guide you through the sign-up process, and clarify expectations for your participation. We will also connect you with invaluable community resources to support your family's well-being. You and your family will leave this session understanding the tools we offer to help meet your goals and feel educated and empowered during pregnancy and/or parenting!
Learning Through Play- Infants

(Do Not Register Children)
This class is taught by our Child Life Specialist and is designed to be an interactive class that engages parents and infants in play while teaching parents about the different developmental milestones as they move through the available activities.
- Parents will leave with ideas on how to facilitate play at home with their babies.
- This class is designed for infants and babies that are not mobile.
Please arrive to class on time. Participants will not be allowed into class if more than 15 minutes late.
**(Seats for this class are individual. If both partners are attending they will both need to register.) If class is cancelled for any reason, participants will be notified as soon as possible.**

(Newborn Care in Spanish) Cuidado de recién nacidos

Por favor llegue a clase a tiempo, las puertas se cerrarán 15 minutos después de la hora de inicio.En esta clase se cubre la comprensión de los rasgos y comportamientos del recién nacido, el llanto y el consuelo, la alimentación, el cambio de pañales, el baño, la salud y la seguridad del recién nacido. Los participantes aprenderán qué esperar en el hospital después de que nazca el bebé y recibirán práctica sobre cómo cuidar a su recién nacido una vez que lo lleven a casa. Los participantes podrán inscribirse en el sorteo de una tarjeta regalo.
(Hybrid Class)Navigating Hypertension and Preeclampsia During Pregnancy and the Postpartum Period

This informative and supportive course is designed for participants who want to understand the challenges and risks associated with pregnancy and postpartum hypertension and preeclampsia. Participants will learn about the signs and symptoms, and potential impacts of these conditions, as well as the importance of early detection and proactive management. The course also covers the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle during pregnancy, communication with healthcare providers, and recognizing warning signs to seek timely medical assistance. This course aims to empower participants with confidence, helping them make informed decisions and ensuring the best possible outcomes for both mother and baby.

Empowered Motherhood: Strategies for Emotional Wellness in Postpartum

Empowered Motherhood is a four-week series designed to help expecting mothers navigate the challenges they may face during the early postpartum period.
While this class is not a treatment for Postpartum Depression, it aims to provide participants with an understanding of the normal emotions experienced during the postpartum period, often referred to as the "Baby Blues," and how to recognize when these feelings might indicate something more serious, such as Postpartum Depression. Participants will also gain tools to manage stress during pregnancy and the postpartum period, set boundaries with loved ones, ask for help, communicate their needs, and identify resources for additional support when needed.
Please ensure you arrive on time, as participants arriving more than 15 minutes late will not be admitted.
**This class is exclusively for expectant mothers. To foster a space for open sharing and vulnerability, partners are not permitted to attend. If the class is cancelled for any reason, participants will be notified promptly.**
(Empowered Motherhood: Strategies for Emotional Wellness in Postpartum in Spanish) Maternidad empoderada: estrategias para el bienestar emocional en el posparto

Maternidad empoderada es una serie de cuatro semanas diseñada para ayudar a las mujeres embarazadas a superar los desafíos que pueden enfrentar durante el período posparto temprano. Si bien esta clase no es un tratamiento para la depresión posparto, su objetivo es brindarles a los participantes una comprensión de las emociones normales que se experimentan durante el período posparto, a menudo denominadas "tristeza posparto", y cómo reconocer cuándo estos sentimientos pueden indicar algo más graves, como la depresión posparto. Los participantes también obtendrán herramientas para controlar el estrés durante el embarazo y el período posparto, establecer límites con sus seres queridos, pedir ayuda, comunicar sus necesidades e identificar recursos para apoyo adicional cuando sea necesario.
Asegúrese de llegar a tiempo, ya que los participantes que lleguen con más de 15 minutos de retraso no serán admitidos.
