This is an informational class designed to educate parents about the benefits of signing with their baby from an early age. Parents will leave with an understanding of the many benefits of signing with their baby and how to use the most common signs as well as how to incorporate the signs into their daily infant care routines. Each participant who attends will be entered in a drawing for a $25 gift card.

This class covers an overview of infant and child car seat safety. We look at 5 types of car seats, how to properly install, and basic techniques to keep every passenger safe. Car seats will not be installed during this class, however you may schedule an individual appointment with one of our car seat technicians for assistance.  Each participant will be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card.

This class is a part of the American Heart Associations EmPOWERED health lessons. 

Every 40 seconds someone in the United States has a stroke. However, by making healthy lifestyle changes and learning the warning signs of stroke, people can control some factors that raise their risks and increase their awareness and response to stroke.

In this lesson, learn who is at high risk, Life’s Essential 8™ to reduce the risk for stroke and about F.A.S.T. – the warning signs of stroke. Each Participant will be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card.

This class is a part of the American Heart associations EmPOWERED health series and will educate participants in the use of hands- only CPR. Hands-Only CPR (without mouth-to-mouth breaths) provided by a bystander is as effective as conventional CPR for cardiac arrest in teens and adults at home, at work or in public if done in the first few minutes after sudden cardiac arrest. About 90% of people who suffer out-of-hospital cardiac arrests die. CPR, if performed immediately, can double or triple a cardiac arrest victim's chance of survival. Each participant will be entered into a drawing for a $25.00 gift card.

This class is a part of the American Heart Associations EmPOWERED health series. This lesson gives guidance on how to: Add more color, crunch and flavor with produce. Embrace ways to include a variety of fruits and vegetables in your daily meals. Take action to help improve access to fruits and vegetables for everyone. Participants who attend five consecutive AHA classes will be entered into a drawing for a $25.00 gift card.

Baby and Me Movement is a beautiful blend of movement, infant care/development, postpartum care and parent community building. This class is for parents and their non mobile infants. This class is facilitated with songs, baby massage, infant care education, group discussion, and baby friendly stretching poses. Participants will learn and engage in bonding techniques, appropriate developmental milestones and activities for babies. They will also have a chance to build community and connect with other parents/guardians in a safe and welcoming space. (Seats for this class are individual. If both partners are attending they will both need to register.) This class is held every other Wednesday at the same time. If class is cancelled for any reason, participants will be notified as soon as possible. 

 Each participant who attends five consecutive sessions will be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card.

Our infant massage instructor will discuss the benefits of infant massage for both infants and parents. The instructor will also instruct participants as they engage their babies in a gentle massage. This includes learning the various massage strokes and how to recognize their  baby’s cues, as well as massage techniques for gassiness and colic.  You are encouraged to take this class with your newborn to 6 months old, non mobile baby. You may bring an extra receiving blanket and a yoga mat or heavy quilt  to put the baby on during the massage, or utilize one of the yoga mats we have available. Seats for this class are individual. If both partners are attending they will both need to register. Each participant who attends will be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card.

This class is part of the American Heart Associations EmPOWERED health series. This lesson covers: Community needs. Understanding the physical activity guidelines for Americans. Identifying how to remove barriers to physical activity. Establishing a physical activity plan. It is possible to prevent heart disease and stroke 80% of the time by making healthy choices such as regular physical activity, leading to longer, healthier lives. Each participant will be entered into a drawing for a $25.00 gift card.
